**Paint Operator-Site Ancillary**
We’re looking for a Paint Operator-Site Ancillary to join us here at Anstey Wallpaper Company; the home of beautiful, quality wallcoverings (part of the iconic Sanderson Design Group PLC). As Paint Operator-Site Ancillary, you will be responsible for supporting the Paint department in all aspects of picking, tinting, and despatching of all paint requirements, including sample pots and managing waste and recycling collection around the Anstey site.

We cover the full spectrum of printing technologies, old and new alike, with machines including Surface & Surflex, Flexographic, Gravure, Rotary/Gravure Hybrid, Rotary Screen, Digital, Flat Screen, a Scattering Line, Converting machinery as well as Hand Block Printing.
**Purpose**
- To be able to function in a flexible and multi-skill capacity
- To manage stock control of base paint, colorants, and sample pots
- To organise and fulfil stock deliveries according to schedules
- To communicate and coordinate transport logistics
- To be competent in manual handling skills, capable of moving and lifting moderate loads with appropriate levels of personal fitness to meet these requirements, including competency in the use of additional mechanical handling equipment
- Numeracy and literacy required to support tasks within the role
- General communication and liaison skills are required, together with waste management skills
- Sample pots production
- Picking Base Paint and colorants using Unity scanning system
- Tinting Base paint job card specification
- Random quality check
- Dispatch of tinted paint and sample pots
- Computer literate to ensure accurate tinting and order processing
- Ensure waste and recycling collection is maintained through collection of waste bins around Anstey Site
**Responsibilities**
PROCESS
- Ensure all jobs are picked and despatched as per the priority order
- Carry out the cleaning of ancillary equipment when required
- To support the customer service levels and ensure that the paint plan is followed
- Accurate communication at shift-change over
- Ensure collection of waste and recycling bins around Anstey site are maintained
- Ensure Cardboard is compacted in goods out
- Maintain stock levels in 3 drinks machines around Anstey site
- Maintain water cooler stock levels around Anstey Site
QUALITY
- Accountable for quality of product produced, ensuring this is in line with the company processes and procedures
- Support the business to monitor, measure and improve quality opportunities
- Accurate recording of data
H&S
- Ensure all H&S processes are adhered to
- H&S improvement opportunities are identified and appropriately followed up
- Always maintain a safe working environment
- Report any damaged, broken, or unsafe equipment
- Ensure all equipment is used and stored in a responsible and safe manner
LEAN MANUFACTURING
- Ensure maintenance schedules are always followed
- Support maintenance within the department and identify maintenance issues
- Ensure all products meets required specifications and quality checks
- Proactively identify improvement opportunities within the department
**Measures of Success**
- Safe working environment and good housekeeping
- Waste level reductions and improvements in quality
- Efficiency running of the Paint department and machines
- Creating a team working environment
**Skills & Experience**
- IOSH Working Safely
- BIT level 2 (or equivalent)
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Motivated to work without supervision
- Excellent problem solver
- Flexible approach
- Understanding of manufacturing process and a production environment
- Strive to improve and embrace change
- Paint background - preferred but not essential
- Good attention to detail
- Lean manufacturing understanding (preferred but not essential)
**Work Pattern: Monday-Thursday 10am-5:30pm, Friday 10am-4pm**
