As a result of our continued success, we currently have an opportunity for a skilled Sales Ledger / Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team, providing financial, administrative, and clerical support.

This is an accounts clerk position with a strong emphasis on credit control, reporting to the Head of Accounts.

**Duties**:

- Perform daily tasks related to accounts receivable, including invoicing, posting payments, and reconciling accounts
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding customer balances, facilitating payments to reduce aged debt
- Communicate with customers to resolve billing discrepancies and answer inquiries
- Opening new customer accounts in line with company policy.
- Ensuring customer accounts and invoices have the necessary detail and supporting documents to ensure prompt payment.
- Ensure company policies and procedures are followed.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely billing and collections
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and analysis as needed

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience as Sales Ledger Clerk, Accounts Receivable Clerk, credit control, accountant.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices and collection regulations.
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Data entry skills and a knack for numbers.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Team player, willing to support colleagues when required.
- Customer service orientation and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Hands-on experience in Excel and accounting software (Xero preferred).
- Qualification in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration desirable.

**Salary**: £24,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
