**Part-time: 21 hours per week**

A part-time research assistant is sought to support data collection and entry for a study investigating the long-term consequences of preterm birth on neurodevelopmental, cognitive and behavioural outcomes

**The Opportunity**:
We aim to collect longitudinal follow-up data from a group of preterm infants and healthy controls from birth through early childhood. The post-holder will collect and analyse neurodevelopmental and cognitive outcome data using standard and bespoke measures at three time-points between ages 9 months and 5 years, schedule appointments, and enter data.

**Your skills and attributes for success**:
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- The successful applicant will have an Honours degree (upper second or better), or equivalent in Psychology or other related quantitative discipline.
- Knowledge and experience of using both Microsoft Word & Excel, and SPSS
- Interest in and knowledge of preterm birth, and brain development
- The ability to set up and run systematic cognitive testing within experimental settings and to undertake systematic standardised cognitive testing with children and adults.
- The ability to communicate effectively orally, in writing and electronically with study participants and their families and members of the research team.
- The ability to work sensitively with young people and their families, to develop an effective rapport with all volunteer participants being tested.
- Experience conducting research in Psychology or a related discipline.
- Experience working with young children, and/or people with disabilities and their families.
- Enthusiasm and conscientiousness for the work and the ability to have intellectual input to the project.
- The ability to liaise closely with other members of the research team.
- Ability to work in a team and to seek advice when needed from expert investigators.
- Ability to organise own work and allocation of time.
- Detail-focus when working with data.
- Willingness to work flexibly depending on the availability of volunteer participants.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA
- Knowledge of participatory research methods.
- Experience collecting and eye-tracking data with a Tobii remote eye-tracker or similar
- Experience on longitudinal research projects
