Transport Planner

**ERF Transport Planner - Afternoons**

Fasttrack Resources are proud to be working in partnership with a prestigious client who are looking to recruit for a **ERF Transport Planner **to join their team on a full time, permanent basis.

The main purpose of the Transport Planner is to control the local collection and delivery vehicles and to ensure that freight entering the warehouse is correctly barcoded.

You will be required to track vehicle progress and to take appropriate remedial actions if vehicles are not running to the planned time.

You will also ensure that drivers are properly debriefed and any delivery or collection issues are reflected in Hellas.

**About the role**:

- Salary up to £28,000 per annum
- 13:30 till 22:00
- Monday to Friday
- 37.5 hours per week

**About the role**:

- To control vehicles and debrief drivers returning
- Effective Planning of domestic vehicles ranging from vans to 44 Tonne trucks to ensure deadlines are met and vehicles are cost effective and wasted capacity is minimised.
- Managing vehicle costings and revenue.
- Spot quotes and haulier negotiations
- To archive all POD details into Hellas
- Ensuring that all jobs have been keyed off in Hellas and all tours have been closed.
- To re-allocate collections as and where needed.
- Liaison with warehouse team, and other departments
- Answering telephone calls and dealing with queries as required.
- Solving any issues arising during the day and escalating to Warehouse Supervisor and/or Transport Manager
- Update and publish failure report on a daily basis.
- Responsibility for the Health, Safety and Welfare of self and others

**About you**:

- Previous knowledge & experience of working in a Road freight environment is desirable
- Experience working in a Transport Planning role is desirable
- Experience of working within a customer facing environment
- Highly competent computer skills in all areas of Microsoft office
- Able to work under pressure to meet tight deadline
- Good knowledge of geographical areas within the UK
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to get on with people in a confident and respectful manner
