**Job summary**:

- Reporting to the Inspection Planning Manager, and working with the other Team Leader, the post holder is responsible for managing one half of the team of Inspection Planning Officers and administrators. They will contribute to the production of the national work programmes of inspection and regulation within designated remit areas. The post holder is a central contact for internal and external stakeholders, dealing with inspection scheduling queries. They are responsible for the overall maintenance of and changes to inspection schedules, inspector work programmes, including programming other work, for example, inspectors’ Research and Evaluation activity.**Job description**:
The key responsibilities of the role are outlined below. However, this is an overview of the role and is not exhaustive. Ofsted reserves the right to assign other duties appropriate to the **B2 APT** grade as required.
- A central point of contact for regions to facilitate the timely production of work programmes to the required quality standards. Manage proactively the day-to-day adjustments of the work programme as agreed with key stakeholders. Resolving complex queries as necessary.
- Deliver and monitor the agreed service levels and where possible drive for improved consistency in process and quality. Provide regular reports to the IPT senior team identifying issues, risks and good practice.
- Performance manage the IPT Inspection Planning Officers and administrators to meet their objectives. Ensure consistency of practice, quality assuring their work to agreed standards.
- Delivery of the training needs of the immediate team to promote continuous professional development. Improve team and individual skills, systems and structures to deliver a quality service.
- Use management information to inform corporate operational decision making and regional dialogue. This will include any emerging risks to the delivery of the work programme.
- Quality assure outputs to ensure compliance with the agreed scheduling principles and departmental KPIs.
