The post holder will be responsible for providing administration assistance within the histopathology service for our cancer pathway patients.

This post will support the entire histopathology administration department, with a particular focus on our cancer reporting pathways, the outsourcing of biopsies, and administration support to molecular reporting. Additional admin duties will also be required including slide filling, handling and distribution of post and other admin duties to support the department.

With support and guidance act as a point of contact and be responsible for the dissemination of information, messages and enquiries for Histopathology Consultants, liaising with multi-disciplinary team members, other health professionals and staff within and external to the Trust where required.
- The job holder will have some involvement with Clinicians and Service Managers across the Trust to ensure that patients are treated in accordance with the Trust's policy and procedures.
- The post holder will be responsible for providing administration assistance within the histopathology service for our cancer pathway patients. This post will support the entire histopathology administration department, with a particular focus on our cancer reporting pathways, the outsourcing of biopsies, and administration support to molecular reporting. - Supports administration department in ensuring that the provision of a secretarial/ administration service for Histopathology is both effective and efficient and utilises all available resource including the secretarial support assistants.
- Support the provision of the Histopathology Fast-Track cancer pathways ensuring that cancer / Fast-Track patients are reviewed and reported in line with local and national performance targets.
