**Location**:Community of North Northumberland

HospiceCare North Northumberland is a local independent palliative charity serving a population of around 63,000 people. We provide high-quality end-of-life-care in patients’ homes to the communities of North Northumberland. We also provide emotional and practical care and support to adults and their families, who are living with a life-limiting illness requiring palliative input, through our hospice at home, bereavement support, and dementia support services. Our care is delivered free at the point of need.

We are looking to expand our dedicated Bank Hospice at Home team, so if you are able to work flexibly, commit to a minimum of 20 hours’ availability per month and are passionate about person-centred end-of-life care, we would love to hear from you. The Hospice Support Worker will work as part of a palliative care team, to care for a patient and their families within their own home in Northumberland. The role will be to deliver clinical and personal care, and support patients with palliative/end-of-life care needs. Previous care experience essential, although the post holder will receive support and supervision from registered nurses the post holder will be expected to work unsupervised in the patient’s usual place of residence complying with all relevant Hospice and Clinical guidelines

Hospice Support Workers are integral members of HospiceCare and the community nursing team providing clinical and personal care to patients with complex palliative care/ end of life needs.

**Salary: Basic salary £13.52 per hour plus enhanced payments for weekend, Bank Holiday and night work.**
