An exciting opportunity has arisen for three Specialist Stop Smoking Advisors to join the well-established and successful specialist stop smoking service within North Yorkshire Council. As a result of recent, significant government funding aimed at accelerating the plan to create a Smokefree generation by 2030, Living Well Smokefree are looking to increase local resources to help people quit smoking. The Living Well Smokefree service works as a countywide team, based in locality areas. The service provides programmes of advice and support to people who want to stop smoking on an individual or group basis, in accordance with agreed local and national protocols.

As a stop smoking specialist advisor you will be responsible for developing provision and coordinating plans and pathways for specific priority population groups in one of the following areas:

- Social housing, low income/debt advice and homelessness
- Routine and manual workers, criminal justice system and LGBTQ+ communities
- Young people and prevention

To be successful, you will be a certified NCSCT (National Centre for Smoking Cessation Training) practitioner or have a willingness to complete this training within 2 months of joining the service and have previous demonstrable experience of stop smoking services, specifically within the above priority populations and a passion for developing personalised support. You will be enthusiastic, self-motivated, and innovative and have a passion for prevention and partnership working.
