As a member of the senior leadership team you'll lead the Finance, HR, Governance and Compliance agendas to move AVC Wise from a business that is known for Local Government excellence to a company that has a clear place and purpose within the wider public sector and the private sector.

You will manage and monitor all aspects of financial, HR and governance performance and ensure the highest level of integrity in all business support services whilst supporting innovation and new products.

**Who we’re looking for**

Your main responsibilities in this role will be:

- With the Board / SMT colleagues, contribute to the development and implementation of strategy, taking into account the interests of all the current and future key stakeholders in the business.
- Take a lead role in the preparation, review and submission of financial budgets, HR and governance reports, providing relevant information and commentary.
- Liaise with members of the senior management team to ensure they are kept fully appraised of those financial, HR and governance matters for which they have responsibility and interest.
- Play a full part in promoting and representing the company to external organisations, particularly potential private equity partners, strategic trading partners, customers, suppliers and all regulatory authorities.
- Review the effectiveness of all existing accounting, HR and governance systems, policies and processes, advising on, and implementing, any appropriate improvements.
- Prepare the statutory accounts and compliance reports, liaising with the external auditors and conducting the role of Company Secretary
- Ensure that accurate and timely monthly management accounts and corporate updates are prepared and that the information and analyses provided contribute to the identification of trends and risks.
- Prepare regular cash flow forecasts, ensuring that working capital is effectively managed and strict cost control and margin targets across the business are met.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including the FSA, Pensions Regulator and HMRC (Corporation Tax, PAYE and VAT).
- Manage and develop the Finance Department, the HR Department and the Governance Department, ensuring that everyone is properly directed and motivated and that their needs, including training, are properly identified.
- Ensuring the company payroll is processed according to schedule and reporting is timely
- Delivering the people plan at the organisation and implementing a clear pay and reward framework
- Managing the risk, governance and compliance responsibilities for the organisation and ensuring training is undertaken and passed by all staff for our mandatory responsibilities.
- Senior responsibility acting as the lead for compliance with any regulations relating to and formal corporate certification including ISO9001, ISO 27001, Financial Services Authority and Information Commissioners Office.
- Own all relationships with corporate external advisers including legal, regulatory and financial bodies including acting as the responsible owner for all legal matters.

**A bit about you**

You’ll already have demonstrable experience within a financial management role. In addition to this you will possess the following skills and experience:

- A qualified accountant (ACCA, ACAS or CIMA)
- At least five years’ experience with financial and corporate governance responsibility
- Experience of delivering corporate compliance and HR agendas
- Relevant industrial experience in Ecommerce, Financial Services, Marketing & Advertising or Professional Services.
- The breadth of management experience to hit the ground running and make an impact in a wide portfolio of responsibilities quickly.
- A proven Finance Director or Head of Finance with the ability to build, manage and motivate a team instilling a best practice environment mentality throughout.
- Expert level technical finance knowledge in accounting and taxation
