We have a fantastic opportunity for two Accommodation Assistants. This is a Full-time role for the next 3 months, with the possibility of extension.

**What is the role?**

Wakefield Councils Accommodation team are looking for two Accommodation assistants to support the Housing Needs Service. This Service is responsible for preventing homelessness in Wakefield and providing support and assistance to those who are already homeless.

**What are your responsibilities?**
- To be responsible for inputting and extracting data from Council and in house data bases and information systems.
- You will be the first point of contact in the accommodation team for customers. This will include dealing with telephone, electronic and face to face enquiries and either dealing with them or signposting on.
- Responsible for maintaining and updating manual and in house computerised recording systems around customer contacts.
- Ensuring that the Accommodation Team has an adequate supply of stationery and other daily requirements and dealing with the daily post to and from the team.
- To be providing administrative support at meetings, including minute taking.
- Provide administrative support for the Accommodation Team, including producing letters, filing, photocopying, word processing, file updating.

**What skills do you Need?**
- Previous experience as a Accommodation Assistant or Housing Officer, would be ideal.
- Strong IT Skills, as you will be using IT systems and record information accurately on their internal systems.
- You will need excellent people skills, as you will be speaking to service users, landlords, carers, social workers, and other members of staff.
- Full time post Monday to Friday based in Wakefield City Centre
