**Company Description**

We are at a pivotal moment: the climate and biodiversity crises are deepening, and inequalities are even more marked in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic and the rising cost of living. The global investment system has an oversized impact on many of these global challenges We want to make sure that impact is positive. At ShareAction we work with investors, policymakers and individuals to unleash the positive potential of the investment system. We aim to build a world where our financial system serves our planet and its people.

**Team**

Over 60 per cent of people living in poverty in the UK are in a working household. These low-paid workers - often in insecure jobs - are propping up our economy, both in the UK and globally. As the cost of living crisis bites, even more people will fall into this category. Our Good Work team works with investors to demand more. Together, we target the UK’s largest companies, urging them to provide decent work for all. This means a real Living Wage, secure contracts and fairness in pay.

**Position**

This role will play a key part in the delivery of ShareAction’s Good Work programme, by planning and delivering our Living Wage and insecure work campaigns. The Senior Campaign Officer will work closely with the Head of Good Work and other team members to develop and implement strategies for engaging companies on pay and working conditions.

They will have the opportunity to work with the Good Work Investor Coalition, an alliance of investors committed to driving up employment standards within companies and improving the integration of these standards into investment decisions. The role will also involve building and maintaining effective relationships with civil society partner organisations to deliver creative campaign actions and hold companies accountable, so that more people have access to decent work.

**What you’ll do **_(key responsibilities)_
- Developing a workplan and delivering the Living Wage and insecure work campaign workstreams, which will include research companies’ policies and practices, writing investor backed letters and AGM questions, as well as other campaign materials.
- Research, write and contribute to investor briefings and reports to support campaign goals.
- Co-ordinate engagement meetings between investors in our Good Work Coalition and companies, producing briefing materials and effective follow-ups.
- Manage relationships with key campaign partners, including civil society organisations, unions and industry bodies.
- Shape the campaign strategy for the Living Wage and insecure work workstreams and contribute towards the Good Work programme’s wider strategy.
- Support the development of new Good Work campaigns, including contributing to fundraising bids.
- Co-ordinate with teams across ShareAction in support of the Good Work programme.
- Ensure that activities records and outcomes are recorded, providing effective monitoring, learning and evaluation of the Living Wage and insecure work workstreams.
- May manage an intern or junior member of staff with manager support.
- Please note that this list is not exhaustive and the role might change slightly from time to time_

**Requirements**:
**What you’ll bring to the team**
- You’ll be energised by the opportunity to harness the power of the investment system to build a fairer society and tackle low pay—you’ll also be willing to challenge established norms and powerful institutions where necessary to achieve this.
- You’ll be able to demonstrate your knowledge of Decent Work, labour standards and Human Rights issues.
- You will have an appreciation of how organising and campaigning can bring about social change and experience or working knowledge of third sector advocacy or campaigning organisations.
- You will be able to manage a range of competing priorities and deadlines, delivering work to a high standard with great attention to detail.
- You will have excellent written and verbal communications and can demonstrate experience of tailoring your message to a range of different audiences.
- You will be a natural collaborator and team-player making sure you get the best out of those you work with.

It would also be great - but not essential - if you have:

- Experience or understanding of the role of the investment system in influencing business practices.
- Experience of engaging with companies on Decent Work, labour standards or Human Rights.
- Experience of Monitoring Evaluation and Learning (MEL) in a programme.
