Centrepoint is the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity working directly in London, Manchester, Yorkshire and the North East of England, and partners with dozens of organisations across the UK. As well as providing direct services, Centrepoint works to influence Government policy to the benefit of homeless young people.

The Campaigns Officer is an exciting role that works to mobilise campaigners and grow public support for our campaign to End Youth Homelessness. Using both creative and technical skills, the role will support Centrepoint to deliver meaningful policy change. This role will be based in the Policy, Research and Campaigns team, and will work closely with the Communications, Marketing and Fundraising teams.

It is a permanent, full-time contract opportunity with a closing date of 13th February 2023. Interviews to be held w/c 27th February 2023.

Key Responsibilities:

- Advise on the design and development of campaigner mobilisation activities to help secure change across our campaigns.
- Proactively identify new audiences to engage, and new tactics to try to reach our objectives.
- Build and maintain high engagement relating to ongoing campaigns. You will work closely with colleagues in the communications team who manage our website and social channels.
- Work with the communications team on execution of brand awareness campaigns.

Key Skills:

- An understanding of Theory of Change and how campaigns activity can support to bring about policy change.
- Knowledge of different campaigning tactics and tools and engagement tactics including high and low bar asks.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with close attention to detail and experience in writing and editing impactful campaign communications including excellent copywriting skills.
- Good political judgement, and understanding of UK political environment including a clear knowledge of local and national government structures as well and decision-making processes.
- Experience of the political influencing environment.
- Knowledge of social media platforms, in particular paid social platforms Facebook Ads Manager.
- Knowledge of campaigning tools like Engaging Networks, New Mode or similar to build and edit campaign actions.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and work to tight deadlines.
- Understanding of and commitment to the aims and objectives of Centrepoint.

Key Experience:

- Working in a campaigns role, including planning and executing digital campaigns.
- Using campaigning tools like Engaging Networks, New Mode or similar to build and edit campaign actions.
- In lead generation campaigning and paid social campaigns.
- Developing audience engagement strategies.
- Writing engaging campaign copy.
- Measuring and reporting on campaigns and their impact.
- Working with a charity and/or with young people (desirable).
- Involving those with lived experience in campaign development or actions (desirable).
