THE POST

Set IXWORTH School seeks to appoint EXAM INVIGILATOR

Set IXWORTH School is member of the Seckford Education Trust (SET), which is currently led by the CEO.

Role: Examinations Invigilator

Qualifications & Experience

Essential
- Educated to GCSE level (good grades in English and Maths); effective oral/written communication skills and numeracy;
- Experience of working or studying in a higher education environment;
- An understanding of examination processes.

Desirable
- Good grades in all GCSEs taken;
Skills and Attributes

Essential
- Excellent administrative skills;
- Excellent organisational skills;
- Good communication skills are required for liaising with students and academic staff;
- Good ICT and office skills.

Personal Qualities

Essential
- Accuracy and attention to detail;
- Willingness and ability to be flexible in order to be available during the examination series;
- Ability to relate to teaching staff and students;
- Highly organised with good timekeeping;

JOB SPECIFICATION

Operation of Internal and External Examinations:

- To support the Examinations Officer with the day-to-day operation of examination venues. This may include:

- Assisting with setting up examination venues by laying out tables, stationery, equipment and examination papers in accordance with procedures laid down by the Awarding Bodies and Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ);
- Checking attendance during examinations;
- Recording details of late arrivals and early leavers and collecting scripts from early leavers;
- Collecting and collating scripts at the end of the examination in accordance with procedures laid down by the Awarding Bodies and JCQ;
- Assisting with the preparation of script envelopes;

Examination Processes:

- Assisting with the packing of examination papers, stationery and equipment prior to the examinations and the delivery to and from venues as appropriate;
- Assisting with the preparation of seating plans;
- Other duties as will be reasonably required by the Examinations Officer.

The post-holder will be required to comply with the Set IXWORTH School Code of Conduct for Staff and Volunteers.

HOURS OF WORK

Paid weeks - Bank basis - as & when agreed with your line manager / the headteacher

Hours per week - Bank basis - as & when agreed with your line manager / the headteacher

Normal Working Pattern - Bank basis - as & when agreed with your line manager / the headteacher

Unpaid Breaks - 30 minutes lunch break where the working day exceeds 6 hours

Holidays - Holiday pay entitlement is included in the pro rata salary for the post.

REMUNERATION

Salary Details:

- £10.42 per hour

As salaries payments are averaged out over the 12 months of the Academic Year, if an Individual begins employment with the Trust, or an Employee changes their contract, part way through the Academic Year a Mid-Year Adjustment calculation will be made. This is to ensure that employees are only paid for work they will do over the remaining months of the Academic Year.

The post-holder will be entitled to join Set IXWORTH School’s nominated pension scheme for support staff.

DRESS CODE

The post-holder will be expected to wear appropriate business attire. All staff will be supplied with appropriate Staff ID. This must be worn at all times to ensure that students, staff and visitors are able to identify Set IXWORTH S
