The Clinical Skills Technologist is critical to the provision of 1st class clinical education & simulation.

Primarily the Technologist will take day to day responsibility for the preparation, set-up & take-down, maintenance of physical resources, along with general workflow of the CSU. They will be the focal point for enquiries.

We are looking for a passionate, friendly individual who is able to think logically and systematically, has an eye for detail and is relentless in the pursuit of excellence.

The CSU delivers high quality procedural clinical skills training & simulation to a wide range of clinical staff. This can take many forms including 1:1, small-group teaching, supervised ward experience and clinical simulation scenarios.

The post requires a good understanding of clinical working, ideally gained in a variety of health care settings.

Undertake a wide range of duties in support of high-quality teaching and learning.

Excellent communication skills are required including high levels of organisation and negotiation.

Responsible for a wide range of teaching and technological equipment in support of teaching and learning.

Proactive, able to work under pressure and an excellent communicator.

Must possess excellent organisational skills and be physically fit - this role requires the set-up, maintenance and take-down of large items of equipment such as manikins, simulators, general furniture etc.

High levels of IT skills are required as a range of information will be gathered, sorted, processed and presented to both internal and external audiences on a regular basis.

Have a technical aptitude as fine-motor skills are required as part of our manikin maintenance schedule’s (training will be provided).

**Key Tasks & Responsibilities**:
Ensure that the Siklos Centre for Clinical Skills & Simulation is prepared as an effective teaching environment to support the overall aims of the Centre.

Be responsible for the provision of administrative processes in support of the work of the Siklos Centre.

Maintain all clinical simulations equipment in the Siklos Centre as an ‘expert-user’ status.

Participate as a member of the teaching and simulation faculty.

Be responsible for the day-to-day ordering of stock and equipment in support of the above.

**Communication**:
Liaise with company representatives and members of the clinical skills team as necessary to facilitate ongoing development in all aspects of equipment performance and design. You will be required to use high-levels of initiative and co-ordinate requests from multiple agencies simultaneously.

Work in partnership with key stakeholders, users, EBME, external companies etc. ensuring that the Siklos Centre is represented as a valued educational facility.

Assist with routine administration of data onto eCare training domain to support educational activities.

Provide ad-hoc formal and informal teaching to staff in relation to the operation and function of physical assets and resources within the Siklos Centre.

Attend and participate in regular inter-departmental staff meetings.

Ensure that confidentiality is maintained at all times, releasing confidential information only to those acting in an official and legitimate capacity with a legitimate ‘need to know’, re-directing any queries to the Clinical Skills Manager if uncertain.

Communicate and liaise with patients who have volunteered their time to support medical student teaching. This may include arranging appointments for them to visit the Siklos Centre, contacting taxi companies to ensure that travel arra
