**Job Title Property & Facilities Officer**

**Hours of Work **8 hours per week (Can be worked flexibly)

**Overview**

This role supports the planned and reactive maintenance of the cathedral’s property and facilities portfolio.

This role is responsible for planning and monitoring the maintenance of the cathedral’s assets as well as ensuring compliance with our legal responsibilities concerning those assets. This role requires someone who has good organisational skills, an eye for detail, and the patience and perseverance to see tasks through to completion.

**Key duties and responsibilities**
- Responsible for planned and reactive maintenance and facility-related matters.
- Respond to enquiries relating to the cathedral’s outside spaces and property.
- Maintain and update the planned maintenance programme. Ensure that all required tasks are undertaken in accordance with the schedule.
- Maintain efficient storage and retrieval systems for all documents and data related to those assets.
- Organise reactive repairs, obtaining quotes and liaising with contractors, team members, and the cathedral architect.
- Responsible for all aspects of the cathedral’s rented properties.
- Maintain a schedule of regular safety checks for all properties including gas, electricity, safety equipment, alarm systems, etc. and include this in all health and safety logs.
- Update all health and safety logs and participate in risk assessment updates, carry out monthly inspections of cathedral assets, and keep property evacuation procedures up to date.
- Liaise with the stakeholders to arrange training, visits and risk assessment updates.
- Organise and maintain PAT testing records.
- Maintain and update key holder information and key inventory records.

Responsible for the supply and issuing of keys.
- Liaison with out-of-hours security.
- Complete financial records of expenditure & code invoices accordingly.
- Maintaining all statutory records pertaining to cathedral assets.

**General**

1. Attend and participate in training courses as directed.

2. Maintain confidentiality at all times.

3. Take a positive and active part in the Cathedral’s annual appraisal/review system.

4. Adhere to Truro Cathedral’s policies and procedures.

5. Other duties as are necessary for the smooth running of the business.
