**Responsibilities**:

- Daily Management of IFLScience core social media properties.
- Develop and implement social media strategies to enhance brand visibility, drive traffic and engagement, and attract new followers.
- Create compelling, engaging, and on-brand written content for social media platforms, including but not limited to posts, captions, articles, and newsletters.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop creative campaigns that align with overall marketing objectives.
- Monitor social media channels, respond to comments and messages, and engage with followers in a timely and professional manner.
- Conduct regular research on industry trends, competitor activities, and social media best practices to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
- Utilize social media management tools to schedule and publish content, analyse performance metrics, and generate reports.
- Stay up to date with emerging social media platforms and tools, recommending and implementing strategies for their integration into our social media efforts.
- Work closely with the design and video team to create visually appealing graphics and videos for social media platforms.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather content, stories, and insights for social media campaigns.
- Work closely with the Managing Editor to develop high-quality, scientifically accurate written articles for the website, including but not limited to interesting social media focused articles, features, interviews and more.

**Qualifications and skills**:

- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related science field.
- Proven work experience as a Social Media Specialist or similar role, with a strong portfolio of successful social media management campaigns.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt writing style to different platforms and target audiences.
- Proficient in utilizing various social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) and social media management tools.
- Knowledge of current social media trends, best practices, and emerging platforms. Basic graphic design skills and familiarity with design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.) preferred.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret social media metrics and generate reports.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for storytelling and a creative approach to content creation.
- Experience in science communication is a plus.
