An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Patient Executive in the Private Care Department. You will have the unique opportunity to support and gain experience of patient administration to support our clinics and inpatient areas being part of a small and ambitious friendly team.

The post holder will provide a pivotal administrative service to patients and consultants and our clinical teams. They will work flexibly with the other team members within Private Care and provide a professional, efficient administrative service to patients.

In addition they will be expected to be able to provide scheduling support, including the booking of appointments.

This post is permanent and is fulltime, working shifts to cover Monday to Friday 7-7pm and rotational Saturday mornings.

This role will be working alongside the In Patient Executives within the Private Care Team. All staff are supported with their training needs and regularly share learning opportunities within the department.

The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust (RNOH) is the largest orthopaedic hospital in the UK, and is regarded as a leader in the field of orthopaedics both in the UK and world-wide. As a national centre of excellence, the RNOH treats patients from across the country, many of whom have been referred by other hospital consultants for second opinions or for treatment of complex or rare conditions.

Private Patients benefit from a team of highly specialised consultants, many of whom are nationally and internationally recognised for their expertise and experience. Consultants are supported in their work by nurses, therapists and other specialist clinical staff who are trained experts in their particular fields of orthopaedic care.

Job Purpose
The post holder will act as a point of contact for all administrative issues relating to patients’ pathway of care for the clinical team The post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and will provide support to the Patient executives (IPE) and Ward manager.
The post holder will ensure high levels of patient and clinician satisfaction by being an accessible, customer focussed and knowledgeable point of contact.
Main

**Responsibilities**:
prepare for patient admissions, introduce patient to ward/ clinics, support clinics, reception duties, patient record management, ordering of stock.
Schedule appointments with the most appropriate clinician.
Ensure all medical notes, referral letters, results and discharge summaries are available for outpatient appointments and consultations.
Ensure Trust systems are updated with patient pathway status information and that data quality is maintained.
Ensure that Trust agreed standard of service is delivered to patients
Ensure details of patients to be admitted are entered onto systems, recording accurate information.
Book pre-operative assessment appointments with the agreed timescales.
Ensure that appropriate tests and investigations are arranged and completed, with results available before surgery (e.g. COVID, MRSA, Bloods, Urine, Scans or results on Trust system such as ICE).
In line with departmental protocols, communicate basic clinical information to patients relating to their procedures and treatments, ensuring appropriate distribution of patient information.
Use Trust IT systems and speciality databases to ensure relevant and accurate information is recorded.
Undertake general typing duties e.g. references and medical reports.
Ensure that all of the relevant documents are uploaded on NoteOn.
Provide cross cover within private care
