Banbury, United Kingdom Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Hello

My name is Abi Ford, I am the dispensary Manager at the Horton Hospital Pharmacy.

I am privileged to lead our very hardworking, friendly, and committed Dispensary team in providing a dispensary service, supplying inpatient, outpatient, and discharge medication to Patients of the Horton Hospital in Banbury.

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated Pharmacy assistant with a positive outlook to support our team in ensuring that our patients receive the best service possible. The successful applicant will have previous hospital or community pharmacy experience and hold their NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy services or equivalent.

The Pharmacy assistant role is varied, where you will be required to assist in the smooth running of an assigned area under direction of our Senior technician. You will support the training of pharmacy apprentices, trainee technicians and pharmacists working alongside you.

You will support both dispensary and stores functions on the Horton Hospital site, labelling and dispensing discharge prescriptions, in-patient medication, and controlled drug requests, providing a ward and fluid top up service to clinical areas, receipt deliveries and be involved in stock management procedures including expiry date checking and processing drugs returned from inside the hospital.

The successful applicant will also answer the phone to our service users, and cover reception, requiring excellent customer service and communication skills.

Please contact Abigail Ford or Lisa Broom if you would like to find out more details

The Trust comprises four hospitals - the John Radcliffe Hospital, Churchill Hospital and Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Headington and the Horton General Hospital in Banbury.

Our values, standards and behaviours define the quality of clinical care we offer and the professional relationships we make with our patients, colleagues and the wider community. We call this Delivering Compassionate Excellence and its focus is on our values of compassion, respect, learning, delivery, improvement and excellence. These values put patients at the heart of what we do and underpin the quality healthcare we would like for ourselves or a member of our family. Watch how we set out to deliver compassionate excellence via the OUH YouTube channel.

This is a part-time position, 30 hours per week Mon-Friday, with working hours between 9:00-17:15, flexible working options would also be considered. You will also be required to participate in weekend working on a 1:6 rota basis, bank holiday, early and late duty rotas as per rota.

Please refer to the description above and to the job description.

This will be a combined role with both dispensary and rotational ward responsibilities.
