**Introduction**

The British Asian Trust (BAT) is in a dynamic and exciting period of growth. In particular, the organisation has launched a new Child Protection Appeal for India, for which it is aiming to raise over $25 million in the next five years. The $25 million raised will be matched by the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF) to establish a ground-breaking $50m Child Protection Programme, aiming to dramatically reduce child exploitation and abuse in India over the next 10 years. The Appeal will engage with high-value and ultra-high value individuals, corporates, and trusts and foundations, in India, the UK and globally, who are interested in having transformative impact with their giving.

**Job Purpose**

**Main responsibilities**
- Support the Executive Director with relationships with donors and prospects.
- Maintain the donor pipeline, ensuring asks are made throughout the year and fundraisers remain on track to meet agreed income targets.
- Prepare written and verbal briefings in advance of meetings, events and other interactions, collating information from across the charity about key donors and prospects.
- Maintain accurate records on the CRM and produce regular reports about the pipeline, enabling senior colleagues to monitor progress of individual donors and prospects.
- Undertake tasks relating to individual donors and prospects as requested by the Executive Director and, where appropriate, be proactive in identifying new activities which are needed.
- Maintain a portfolio of donor and prospect relationships.
- Coordinate stewardship activities across the charity and ensure that our donors feel valued and recognised for their contribution.

**PERSON SPECIFICATION**

**Qualifications**
- Educated to degree level, or equivalent standard or relevant professional experience, which demonstrates equivalent academic skills of literacy, numeracy and analytical ability.

**Knowledge and skills**
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in a wide range of media.
- Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to influence/ persuade colleagues and stakeholders.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to collate and interpret information to create strong written briefings and proposals.
- Strong organisational and workload management skills and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong IT and digital skills, including confidence with CRM databases, Microsoft Office Tools, using social media and other web-based resources.
- Excellent organisational and workload management skills.
- Knowledge of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising codes of practice.
- Awareness of data protection regulations.

- Experience working in the international development sector.
- Experience of/passion for the South Asia region.

**Salary**: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
