**Salary**: £10.90 per hour
Hours**:Kilmarnock Base 10** hours Mon to Thurs 3.30-6pm

Post holder will undergo PVG check for working with children.

Reports to: Young Carer Development Manager

Overall Objectives: East Ayrshire Carers Centre provide information, advice and support to carers throughout East Ayrshire.

The post holder will assist the Young Carers staff to provide group sessions, 1:1 support, social and leisure opportunities to young carers living in East Ayrshire

Job Specification:

- The post holder will assist staff to prepare and deliver weekly group activities to young carers
- To assist staff to prepare and serve food to young carers during group and respite activities
- To undertake the completion, action and reviews of young carers statements (YCS) to enable them to make positive choices regarding their future aspirations
- To assist staff to support young carers transitioning from primary to secondary school
- To support families in crisis to access additional services from colleagues such as support groups, benefits maximisation, fuel poverty and debt advice
- To signpost family members internally and to external organisations for additional support
- To be available to accompany the Young Carers Officer and YCs on respite breaks out with East Ayrshire and including overnight stays if required
- Any other tasks or duties as reasonably requested

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 10 per week

**Salary**: £10.90 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

- kilmarnock ka1 1sa: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Youth work: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (preferred)
