Dorset HealthCare Children and Young People’s Public Health Service are recruiting for a 0-19 Infant Feeding and Child Nutrition Clinical Lead to join our supportive, forward thinking and proactive Leadership team. The role will be a part of a small team of Specialist Public Health Leads.

The 0-19 Infant Feeding and Child Nutrition Clinical Lead will work Pan Dorset to promote a Whole Family /Whole School Approach to healthy eating and healthy weight. The 0-19 Infant Feeding and Child Nutrition Clinical Lead will provide the Children’s and Young People’s Public Health Service with clinical leadership, promoting and supporting the development of innovative practice to promote behaviour change support to improve family nutrition. Training and further development opportunities within the role will be provided.

Previous exposure to working with Children, Young People and their families is a key requirement for this role. Car driver essential for networking and meetings across Dorset.

This is a part time role (30hrs), with a flexible working pattern across Mon-Fri, including hybrid working. This a permanent position.

Encourage healthy eating in children, young people and families to effect lifelong choices and support the best start in life.

Lead on infant feeding and NCMP to include leadership for the Breastfeeding and NCMP champions.

Ensure collaboration with those leading regional and national developments for infant and child nutrition for CYP 0 to 19 and their families. To actively work with groups such as Active Dorset, Growell, Infant feeding Network and other groups as agreed

Coordinate and support practitioners to implement initiatives for nutrition and healthy weight

Work with colleagues including IT and Clinical Systems, to ensure that pathways and processes are translated to the clinical record e.g SystmOne, RiO

Ensure that all service developments and underpinning processes are delivered consistently pan Dorset and are regularly monitored and reviewed using the NHS Quality Improvement framework including Plan Do Study Act approach for new developments

Support training to CYP Public Health teams, in conjunction with Workforce Development Leads by enabling teams to develop the knowledge and skills to support families effectively with nutrition and healthy weight

Develop and maintain effective partnerships with external agencies (e.g Maternity Services, Local Authorities, Family Hubs, Public Health Dorset, Voluntary and Community Sectors) and those leading regional and national developments for infant and child nutrition for CYP 0 to 19 and their families
