and main responsibilities

The Improvement Manager will be responsible for ensuring consistency of approach across all the projects/programmes and ensuring adherence to governance and reporting processes to provide assurance to all stakeholders.

They will also be responsible for implementation and delivery of their own specific projects/programmes which will include oversight and mitigation of risks as well as setting project milestones for the project teams, working to them to ensure delivery within relevant time, cost, quality parameters.

Experience

Essential criteria

Experience of working across boundaries, engaging and managing a broad range stakeholders Experience of leading teams engaged in clinical pathway redesigns and delegating, plans and responsibilities to ensure delivery Extensive NHS Clinical Operational experience as either a Directorate or Clinical Manager

Desirable criteria

Experience in managing projects involving large scale transformation and/or service redesign

Knowledge

Essential criteria

Knowledge and comprehensive understanding of the clinical pathways across / within Acute setting Knowledge of the principles of organisational change and continuous improvement Knowledge of the principles of skills transfer at all levels in an organisation

Desirable criteria

In depth knowledge of all current health service issues

Interpersonal skills

Essential criteria

Able to influence and facilitate to drive forward processes where senior stakeholders are advocating different options or directions Well-developed influencing skills, with the ability to motivate teams and gain consensus at all levels within the organisation and externally Able to convey ideas and advice clearly, concisely, with conviction and in a persuasive manner often in the face of opposition or hostility when challenged.
