Crewe, United Kingdom Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Here at Mid Cheshire we are committed to building and embedding a culture of continuous improvement and to enable and empower our staff to make improvements as part of their work. It is an exciting time to be joining the Continuous Improvement Team as we have recently launched our Strategic Improvement Aims and annual improvement initiatives, as well as our new structured approach to improvement at Mid Cheshire called Improvement Matters.

The Continuous Improvement Facilitator is a new and important role within the team and is responsible for coordinating, facilitating and supporting improvement activity at MCHFT aligned to our Improvement Aims, as well as facilitating sessions, communicating about improvement and providing coordination for the programme.

The role is suitable for someone who is energetic, enthusiastic and organised, who is able to support the CI Team effectively and engage confidently with people across the Trust. We are looking for someone who is organised, eager to learn and has a positive ‘can do’ attitude. If this is you, then we would love to hear from you

The Continuous Improvement Facilitator will work alongside Continuous Improvement and Transformation Practitioners as part of the Trust’s new approach to Improvement called Improvement Matters.

Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT) provides good quality, safe and effective healthcare to the people of Cheshire and beyond. The Trust, which manages Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford, was established as an NHS Trust in April 1991 and became a Foundation Trust in April 2008.

We employ almost 5,000 members of staff, provide around 540 hospital beds, with a range of services including accident and emergency, maternity, outpatients, therapies, and children's health.

The Trust is also part of Central Cheshire Integrated Care Partnership (CCICP), a unique local health partnership that provides a range of community services for people across South Cheshire and Vale Royal.

During the Coronavirus pandemic, the Trust was recognised nationally for its ‘Be Safe Be EquiPPEd’ campaign, which aimed to make the Trust as safe as possible for staff and patients, through supporting the correct use of PPE. The results in the 2020 national NHS Staff Survey showed improvements in all elements of the safety culture theme, with 92% of respondents feeling their role made a difference to our patients. We were also recognised nationally for our workforce health and wellbeing initiatives.

At Mid Cheshire, we value our staff and appreciate that in order to give our patients the best quality, compassionate care, we also need to look after our colleagues.

Work with the Continuous Improvement Team to coordinate the activities required to implement the Trust’s CI Delivery Plan and Strategic Improvement Aims, including but not limited to:
1. Supporting the effective planning, coordination and delivery of the CI team’s strategic improvement initiatives and workshops.
2. Providing project and admin support for strategic improvement programmes i.e. tracking progress and coordinating and maintaining improvement documentation and systems.

4. Planning and managing the logistics of large-scale learning sessions / collaborative events, supporting the day to day running of the CI programme and co-ordination of the team.
5. Leading on the evaluation of delegate feedback following training/events, analysing feedback and making recommendations to improve the delivery of future events.
1. Collecting, analysing and presenting data and information for monitoring and reporting improvement activity and impact.
2. Working with clinical and non-clinical staff to support improvement activity using the A3 tool.
3. Supporting joined up communications across programmes i.e. liaison with key leads and stakeholders.
4. Updating and maintaining the Improvement Hub (intranet site) and coordinating and developing content for communications.
5. Having oversight of improvement activity via the Improvement Tracker and coordinating and sharing learnings and good practice.
6. Supporting the development of a culture of Continuous Improvement, capturing lessons learned throughout projects and ensuring that these are incorporated into future development and shared with colleagues and the wider Trust.
7. Managing the Improvement Matters inbox, Improvement Hub and social media account, acting as first point of contact for the CI team and logging and directing enquires as appropriate.
1. Providing high level administrative support, including managing diary appointments/meetings.
