An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate, knowledgeable and dedicated Wellbeing Adviser to join the UEA Student Services Wellbeing Service on a full-time, indefinite basis.

You will work as part of the Wellbeing Advisory team offering specialist student-centred advice and guidance and deliver support to students with a wide variety of wellbeing and mental health related needs.

You will play an active role in the promotion of positive mental health and wellbeing within the student and wider University community, which will include
- Promoting an inclusive ‘whole university’ approach to wellbeing
- Identifying support needs, agreeing support plans and providing advice and guidance in relation to wellbeing and mental health
- Assessment of risk, risk management and safety planning
- Ensuring students’ needs are met under the Equality Act (2010), setting up Reasonable Adjustments, ensuring access to support under Disabled Students Allowance and Internal needs assessments
- Supporting students to effectively engage in university life and their academic studies
- Liaising with external wellbeing agencies in relation to students needs

You must have a recognised and accredited mental health, allied health professional or psychological therapy qualification, together with relevant recent experience of working with adults with mental health difficulties.

You must be committed to working positively as an active ally, promoting equality, diversity and inclusion as well as being able to work collaboratively with a diverse range of individuals.

You should be experienced in being able to prioritise and work flexibly and meet all essential criteria of the person specification. You will need to be prepared to undertake occasional planned weekend and evening work and be confident to deliver services both in person and remotely.

Please note Student Services are working to a hybrid model, with staff working in part on campus and in part from home. All staff will have an individual working plan agreed that works for their own personal circumstances, and where staff are unable to work from home full time campus working is available.
