The role of **Machine Shop Production Finisher **main activities are to perform dimensional and visual inspection on a variety of components through first piece, in-process and final inspection with the ability to multi-task. Ability to use manual measuring equipment, gauges, CMM’s, follow work instructions. The Secondary activities would entail hand shot blasting, hand masking, ultrasonic cleaning, steam cleaning and laser marking of our orthopedic implants. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job and works under immediate supervision.

The role requires the above to be accomplished within Tecomet’s principles of continuous improvement, customer-driven innovation, and a win first culture, while meeting company financial and other performance metrics

**PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Perform highly diversified finishing duties involving the inspection of manufactured products having extremely close tolerances.
- Utilise all types of precision measuring instruments
- Surface tables, comparator, in order to make first piece, in process, and final inspection for quality and appearance in accordance with customer/company specifications, where only general methods are available.
- Complete the inspection of products with a variety of surface finishes, including high polished and mirror finishes.
- Responsible for determining acceptance or rejection of product notifying department supervisors and Quality Engineers of failures to meet customer specifications.
- Fill our inspection paperwork with each order.
- Operation of hand shot blasting machines, ultrasonic cleaning tanks, steam cleaning machines.
- Performs preventive maintenance and equipment upkeep included.
- Maintain records and move materials as necessary in performance of duties.
- Maintain work area and equipment in clean, safe and orderly condition.
- Follow company rules and regulations, safety precautions and maintain quality standards.
- Perform other related duties as required or as directed.

**REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES**
- Work from customer drawings/specifications, specifications, prints, work order routing forms, acceptance/rejection forms and verbal/written instructions from supervisors and Line Manager.
- Has working knowledge of measuring instruments such as Vernier’s, micrometers, indicators. And special equipment such as CMM Machine, comparators, surface tables, micrometers, blocks contour reader, analyzers, gauges and equipment.
- Ability to work independently and exercise judgment
- Able to multi-task.
- Able to work under general supervision and follow instructions.
- Good data entry skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE DESIRED**
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a machine shop, forging or casting environment conducting quality mechanical and visual inspection.

**PHYSICAL DEMANDS**

While performing the duties of this job, the employee could be required to stand. The employee could frequently be required to walk; use hand to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee could be required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee could occasionally lift and or move up to 10 kilograms. Specific vision abilities required by the job could include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
