Senior Clerical Officer

We are looking to recruit a committed and dynamic individual to work as part of the Radiology administration team based in Amersham Hospital. The post holder will be working closely with key service coordinators to provide a highly efficient patient booking and administrative service within the department. The post holder will also be required to cover any gaps (e.g. leave) in the reception area in Radiology
The post holder will be required to maintain a high standard of service to meet patient needs and service demand. Precise booking and data entry is crucial. The post holder will be expected to communicate and deal politely and sensitively with patients and their relatives. The ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, other members of staff, such as consultants and nurses is also essential. This post involves significant computer work. Good IT skills are required and the ability to remain calm under pressure is also essential.
Main duties of the job are as below (non-exhaustive)
- To work as an essential part of the Radiology department to provide a highly efficient patient booking and administrative service.
- Making and receiving telephone calls from patients, making appointments, rescheduling and cancelling appointments when needed.
- The ability to communicate effectively with clinicians including, consultants and their teams is essential, as is the ability to deal politely and sensitively with patients and their relatives.
- This is a busy role that involves significant computer work. Good IT skills are essential whilst maintaining accuracy working in a busy and demanding role. The ability to remain calm under pressure is also essential.
