**Job Title**: Clinical Lead
**Responsible To**:Home Manager

**Purpose of Position**:
To support the Home Manager in all aspects of the home's management, including taking full charge during their absence, while working in Newcastle. Provide high-quality nursing care and assist in identifying and addressing the health and social care needs of service users.

**Duties**:

- Ensure all staff contribute effectively to the home's efficient operation and create a positive atmosphere.
- Ensure adequate staff coverage for the home, including covering extra shifts if no other alternative is available.
- Be on-call for out-of-hours advice/emergencies for your home and other services in the group as directed by your manager.
- Supervise and train junior and new staff members in all aspects of their work.
- Assist service users with personal care needs and provide health supervision through direct nursing care when needed.
- Report any ill-health among clients and request GP/professional visits as necessary.
- Assist in formulating social and health care plans for new service users and in conducting service user reviews.
- Control the issue of drugs for which the home is responsible and maintain necessary records.
- Participate in developing activities for service users that enhance their quality of life.
- Maintain effective communications with clients, relatives, staff members, Head Office, Directors, and other concerned bodies, especially in the absence of the Home Manager.
- Ensure a clear and concise handover report is given to all staff members.
- Practice maximum integrity in all dealings with clients' personal and financial affairs.
- Ensure food preparation, cooking, and serving meet required standards and dietary needs of clients.
- Ensure rooms and common areas are properly cleaned, maintained, and adequately heated.
- Participate in staff meetings and training/development activities.
- Assist the Home Manager in maintaining logbooks and records required by the registering authority or Directors/Head Office.
- Ensure sensible conservation of all commodities used in and around the home by all staff members.
- Carry out risk assessments for individuals and activities and ensure all risk assessment proposals are implemented.
- Be responsible for infection control in the Home Manager's absence.
- Attend mandatory training courses, on or off-site, as required.
- Maintain professional knowledge and competence.
- Assist the Home Manager in recruiting new staff members following the Company's Recruitment policy.
- Implement and manage the Company's Disciplinary policies and procedures, in conjunction with Head Office, in the Home Manager's absence.
- Assist the Home Manager in conducting formal supervision/appraisal of staff to ensure consistently high standards.
- Organize workload and forward plan off-duty schedules to ensure sufficient staff cover in the Home Manager's absence.
- Liaise with Social Services and health authorities to fill any client vacancies by assessing suitable clients, in conjunction with the Referral Team, in the Home Manager's absence.
- Immediately report any infectious illness or accident involving a client, colleague, self, or others to the Home Manager.
- Ensure the implementation of the home's Health and Safety policy and Emergency and Fire procedures.
- Maintain home security at all times.
- Ensure the home is attractively presented and odour-free at all times.
- Report any faulty appliances, damaged furniture, equipment, or potential hazards to the Home Manager or Handyperson.
- Promote safe working practices in the home.
- Ensure all equipment is clean and well-maintained.
- Maintain confidentiality of all information gained during duty.
- Be on-call for emergencies within the home and cover shifts if all other avenues have been exhausted.
- Adhere to all Company policies and procedures within the defined timescales.
- Perform any other tasks reasonably assigned to you.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to £21.42 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
