**HOUSING SUPPORT WORKER - within the Adults Service**

**Hours - 35 hours per week (plus 5 hours paid lunch break)**

**This role runs on a 3 week rolling rota**:
Week 1 - 8am-4pm, Monday - Friday
Week 2 - 8am-4pm, Monday - Thursday, Saturday & Sunday

We are a national social justice charity with more than 50 years’ experience of changing lives, building stronger communities, and reducing crime. Last year alone we helped support, house, educate, advise, and speak out for 38,000 disadvantaged young people and adults - and you could now help us make an even bigger impact going forward.
Our services in Lincolnshire help vulnerable young people, who are homeless or are threatened with homelessness, to live independently. Our aim is to inspire the young people we support to be ambitious and embrace new opportunities.
This role sits within our Young People Hub in Grantham and it involves supporting young people aged 16- 25 to transition from supported accommodation into more independent accommodation.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Work with young people offering creative and innovative supported opportunities for them to improve their quality of life develop their skills and make decisions about their future.
- Keep appropriate records of interventions with Young People, and inform other staff of relevant issues.
- Facilitate regular consultation and action to enable young people to make decisions concerning their resettlement options with a view to independent living.
- Assist in arranging appointments with relevant professionals involved in the young people’s support.
- Provide advice and assistance to young people on personal budgeting, and claims for welfare benefits with guidance from Senior Support Worker and/or Team Manager.
- Ensure that, where applicable, housing and property management tasks are effectively undertaken in line with procedure and targets. Ensure that properties comply with Nacro’s property standards and are well maintained and equipped.

- Previous experience of working in Housing Management.
