**Experienced medical secretary **sought for private medical practice of Respiratory Consultant in Guildford.
- The appointee will support an existing medical secretary / PA and is needed full-time, with some flexibility, working on-site (Guildford area). Not suitable for working from home (wholly or partially).

**Job description**

This is a fast-paced position in a busy but friendly practice, based on-site at a local private hospital.
- The role covers a wide range of secretarial responsibilities including receiving telephone calls from prospective patients, booking appointments, scheduling consulting lists, preparing correspondence, actioning clinic outcomes, booking investigations and collating results.
- The burden of typing work is reduced by use of speech recognition software within our practice, though transcripts require some tidying up. Topping and tailing and diary management is performed by practice management software (Carebit, experience helpful but not essential).
- Billing is outsourced to a third-party invoicing agency.
- Good IT literacy is essential.
- A high standard of accuracy and competence are essential, with need for multi-tasking.
- Good teamwork and people skills are essential.

**Hours of work & holiday**
- The post-holder will report to an established senior secretary / PA. It will be necessary to co-ordinate holidays, so that you and your colleague are not on leave at the same time.
- Flexibility to increase your hours of work during periods of your colleague's leave is important, for which additional hours are paid.
- Holidays allowance is five weeks plus Bank Holidays. It is required to take some of this leave during consultant holiday periods (known well in advance).

**Payment**
- Payment for a suitably experienced applicant is up to £22 per hour.
- Statutory pension and sick leave are paid in line with national requirements.

**Interview**
- A preliminary shortlisting interview will be held by Zoom.
- It would be helpful to have referees who are contactable in advance.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
