Leisure & Culture Dundee is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) SC042421. It was established by Dundee City Council in July 2011 to deliver leisure, sports, library, information and cultural services for the city.

Leisure and Culture Dundee, in partnership with Dundee City Council, is looking to recruit an ASN Inclusion Officer to join our successful our Team.

Working 37 hours per week full time within the Active Schools Team, located at various schools in Dundee.

**Requirements**:
Educated to degree level or have equivalent specialist experience working with children with additional support needs.

**Responsibilities**:
As part of a dynamic Leisure and Sport Section, you will contribute to the section’s social objectives and Dundee’s Physical Activity Strategy outcomes, by breaking down barriers to participation and supporting more children and young people with an Additional Support Need’s (ASN), to gain access to high quality sport and physical activity opportunities. You will provide specialist support to schools and Community Sports Hubs to provide fun accessible sport and physical activity opportunities, increasing participation levels and supporting children with ASN to feel more included and less isolated.

**The Individual**:
Previous experience of working with and supporting children and young people with complex additional support needs in a sport and physical activity setting is essential. You will also have experience of supporting other people through training, development and one to one support in a ASN setting.

You will have experience in leading and managing of projects in areas of education, sport, health, leisure and/or recreation industry.

You will also have the ability to identify good practice and promote the role of physical activity (including sport, play, health, and active travel) to children and young people with ASN’s.

You should have the ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with internal colleagues and be able to assist with the process of integration, bringing together all elements our work.

You will have the ability to work as a team and respond positively and enthusiastically to change within Active Schools and Leisure and Culture Dundee. Ability to build trust and devolve responsibility and resources to partners/colleagues.

You should have the ability to work effectively with a wide range of different people at every level and in different organisations. You can also positively overcome internal and external barriers at all levels in order to achieve results.

You will have excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills (both written and oral), and the ability to present information in an interesting and stimulating manner.

Ability to build trust and devolve responsibility and resources to partners/colleagues and can work on own initiative. You will also possess personal motivation which inspires a strong commitment to working towards the concept of Active Schools and Community Sports Hubs. You will be enthusiastic and highly motivated with the ability to motivate others. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, strong influencing and negotiating skills, be resilient and able to deal confidently with difficult challenges and are results orientated.

You should value and promote equality and diversity within Active Schools and Community Sports Hubs with partners and have a flexible approach to working.

Full and valid driving licence and access to transport (dependent on school cluster).

Evening and weekend work will be required.
