**Details**
Support Worker / Buddy (P/T) required to support a young man with Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
You will provide social support and companionship within the local community, ensuring his safety at all times. The young man has very little communication skills therefore patience is required to allow him to communicate his needs and feelings clearly. Continuity and consistency are very important to him.
He loves horses and although he does not ride them, he enjoys going to the beach with them - applicants must therefore be fit and able to accompany him. He also enjoys going for walks on a nice day and using his pool in his garden.
We are looking for individuals who are calm, patient and able to recognise his anxieties and associated behaviours. It is essential that you have an experience of Autistic Spectrum Disorder and managing associated seizures.
**Experience / Qualifications Required**
Experience of supporting young Adults with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and dealing with seizures is essential.
You must be a driver with use of own car and a full clean driver’s licence, business insurance would be required. Please note that mileage allowance will be paid if using your car for work duties.
Successful applicants will have to provide 2 references (one of which must be your current or most recent employer) and undergo a New PVG Disclosure at the employers cost.
