HR Coordinator

Local joinery company Wignall’s are seeking to recruit an experienced HR Person on a permanent, part-time basis in Heathfield, Newton Abbot.
Wignall’s now employees in excess of 40 staff and requires a dedicated HR person to act as the primary point of contact for colleagues across the business for HR related matters. The role, whilst working with the management team, requires the applicant to take the lead across the full range of the business’ HR function providing support and advice on a day-to-day basis. It also requires developing strong relationships across the business to allow our cohesive team to prosper.
Self-motivation is also a key quality given that much of the work to be done will be independent of others, being mindful of confidentiality.
**Role**:
- Assist the managerial team with all aspects of HR and employee relations.
- Administration of the HR function (maintain employee records, ensuring all processes are followed).
- Face to face meetings with employees on a variety of matters, to include interviews, inductions, appraisals, disciplinary meetings.
- Develop new processes
**Key responsibilities will include**:
- Take a lead in people management
- Act as a go to point of contact for all HR queries
- Manage recruitment, using advertising campaigns and recruitment partners
- Ensure legal and compliant HR policies throughout the business
- Maintain and update all employee records and documentation
- Monitor and administer staff holidays / unpaid leave
- Work closely with the H&S / Training Coordinator
- Continuous development and improvement to employee training plans
- Liaise closely with our external HR partner who provide us with updates to current best practice and legislation
**Must have**:
- Exceptional communication skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Demonstrable HR experience
- Understanding of, and adherence to, sensitivity and confidentiality best practice
**Benefits**:
