I am working with the Endeavour Learning Trust to find them a Finance Manager to join their supportive central team based in Leyland, Lancashire.

The Endeavour Learning Trust are a small, well-run MAT on the journey to grow to 10 schools. They have successfully centralised Finance and HR to enable their school staff to concentrate on teaching and learning.
With the support of the CFO, you will line manage three Finance Officers and assist school-based Operations Managers to ensure that the daily finance operations run effectively. You will also contribute to planning, development and implementation of the centralfinance function and compliance. There will be further opportunities within the trust as your career progresses.
This would suit a private sector Finance Manager or experienced Finance Officer looking to move into Education. Or a School Business Manager looking for a move into a MAT central team.
**Important Details**:

- Salary is £32,020 to £36,298

**Duties of the Finance Manager**:

- Undertake all business and financial management transactions relating to the Trust resources and prepare reports to the CFO as required
- Completion of statutory returns in line with deadlines such as month end; payroll reconciliations, salary journals, VAT returns, bank reconciliations, control account reconciliations and when required running/completing budget monitoring reports and cashflow forecasts
- Maintain and administer all Trust bank accounts
- Manage the central finance function through planning, developing, designing, and monitoring administrative systems and procedures
- Manage the central finance team, including line management, probationary interviews, actioning appraisals, recruitment, and selection.
- Arrange provision, analysis and evaluation of data, reports and information when required
- Assist the COO/Trust Estates Manager in the procurement process, including securing appropriate service contracts, licenses, and insurance
- Maintain good lines of communication between the finance team, the School Operations Managers,suppliers, and the rest of the Trust
- Organise and prioritise tasks and work to deadlines, to avoid delays in finance, procurement, and communication
- Collate monthly and annuaI spending and financial reports for use by the CEO, CFO, COO and Trustees
- Assist the CFO with end of year procedures and prepare for finance requirements over the summer, ensuring this runs smoothly into the new academic year
- Work alongside the external auditors
- Maintain the integrity and accuracy of audit trails on financial accounts, spreadsheets and software used to track funds
- Ensure training in Trust finance systems for new staff and visit schools to carry out refresher training where required
- Analyse, interpret and present financial data using relevant software

**The Finance Manager Must Have**:

- A finance or accounting qualification or equivalent experience
- Experience managing a team
- Experience working in a busy finance office or role
- Ability to prioritise whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Competence using MS Office Software, with intermediate skills in Excel
- Excellent time management, motivation, and organisation
- A calm and organised nature, with the ability work professionally under pressure
- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to respond effectively to challenges
- High expectations of self and professional standards
- The ability to build successful working relationships
- 4 GCSEs (or equivalent) A*-C including English and Mathematics/Grade 9 to 5

**An Advantage but not Essential**:

- Experience working in an education setting
- A current full driving licence
