To find out more about us

We are responsible for the entire range of children’s education, health and social care services in all three boroughs. We use a Signs of Safety practice model and approach which ensures the voice of the child is at the heart of everything we do. There’s never been a better time to join AfC, we are growing our workforce, implementing new flexible working arrangements and have increased our virtual wellbeing offer.

We are transforming the business systems which we use in Achieving for Children. Following significant investment from our owning councils we are about to start a major programme of work to improve the systems our frontline teams rely on to make a positive difference to the lives of children, young people and families. You’ll be working with colleagues across the organisation and supporting this exciting transformation project.

**This is a fixed term position for 24 months.**

About the role

As Childrens Systems Project Officer you’ll be part of a team that’ll be working hard to improve the systems which our frontline practitioners rely upon. We are replacing one of our main children’s case management systems and you’ll be supporting many elements of this exciting programme.

You’ll be involved with a wide range of activities, from coordinating project meetings, gathering information and maintaining project documentation through to system and data development tasks. The system improvement work we have planned spans many service areas, so you’ll get to know colleagues across the organisation and build relationships with them. You’ll be relied upon by other members of the project team to support them, but also take responsibility for your own work areas.

You’ll be involved with the system implementation, data migration and will work with colleagues on developing processes which really support our practitioners. Your previous experience with a major system implementation will help us mitigate the challenges which will arise in this programme. You’ll be ensuring project documentation is complete and current, alongside helping to coordinate and engage the various partners, internally and externally, to the programme.

About you
- An expert user of technology and with the ability to explain to others how to use systems and IT
- Experience supporting system implementation or other major transformation projects
- A proven track record within the public sector, with experience of working with services that support children and families.
- A competent user of technology and with the ability to translate complex, technical messages to others
- Experience capturing requirements, creating project documentation and coordinating project meetings
