Project Support Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 12 month secondment/ Fixed term working full-time Project Support Officer in the Transformation Team.
The postholder will support the Transformation Partner with delivery of a range of identified transformation programmes. The Project Support Officer will work flexibly across programme areas as needed, providing high-quality project support including strategic research and information analysis.
The postholder will work as part of the Transformation team, utilising the team standard approach to Programme Management, to deliver key outcomes and objectives across a range of transformational programmes. The project support officer will be responsible for information gathering and analysis to support the delivery of programme plans.
The role includes scoping and research on strategic and service development/transformation issues and responsibility for translating projects into business cases for review and approval by NHS STW.
The Transformation directorate will at any time be running multiple complex programmes of change, aligned to Acute and Specialist Care, and Community and Place-Based, system-wide programme boards. The Project Support Officer will work within the Community Team but will be expected to work flexibly across programme areas as needed, providing high-quality project support including information and analysis across several identified programmes of work.
The post holder will support the Transformation Partners in running their projects and will actively work in partnership with providers and other system colleagues, when designing and supporting the transformation of services, in line with commissioning best practice.
The Transformation and Commissioning team is made up a Head of Transformation & Commissioning, Transformation and Commissioning Partners, Project Support Officers, Ophthalmology Advisor (Clinical) and admin support. The team work on a number of different large-scale projects across the ICS, alongside day-to-day commissioning and work closely with other departments across NHS Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, such as Contracting, Finance, Quality and Medicines Management.
NHS Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin currently have an agile working policy, with a combination of working from home and working from either Ptarmigan House, Shrewsbury or Halesfield, Telford. The organisation creates a supportive culture for all staff and encourages staff to access the Health and Wellbeing group which has a programme of activities, events and training.
The organisation is currently developing a long-term plan and vision due to the recent transition from a CCG to an ICB.

Job Summary

The delivery of transformation schemes within these Boards covers all ages and is key to achieving clinical, quality, and financial sustainability of the STP.
The Project Support Officer will work within a programme area but will be expected to work flexibly across programme areas as needed, providing high-quality project support including information and analysis across a number of identified programmes of work. The postholder will support the Transformation Partners and Transformation Project Managers in running their projects and will actively work in partnership with providers and other system colleagues, when designing and supporting the transformation of services, in line with commissioning best practice. The post will involve exposure to a wide range of projects and services across the health and care system.
Key Responsibilities
- To work as part of the Transformation team, utilising the team standard approach to Programme Management, to deliver key outcomes and objectives across a range of transformational programmes.
- To be responsible for information gathering and analysis to support the delivery of programme plans.
- To participate in working groups, programme boards and other forums to provide information and analytical advice to Transformation Partners, Transformation Project Managers and Heads of Transformation.
- To organise meetings /events and supporting PMO templates and plans associated with programmes of work.
- To work with members of the team to develop and implement project data collection systems that will provide accurate and timely data that aligns with the team standard approach to programme management and meets cluster and other programme needs.
