The post holder will lead on the pre-registration Student Nurses, Student Operating Practitioners and HCA learning development programmes. The role will also involve supporting learning of post registration courses for Theatre staff, and staff undertaking Theatre competencies. Be responsible for organising monthly training audit agendas facilitating mandatory training and additional training requirements for the operating department. The Facilitator will be a proficient, approachable role model in addition to an expert clinician in the field of Theatres with a proven track record of clinical achievement.
Play a pivotal role in education provision within the Theatres department, always maintaining a visible presence in the clinical areas. Able to work flexibly and work all shift patterns for the requirements of training and supporting practice development. Working in all areas within the Theatre Directorate to include Day Stay Unit, Pre Assessment Service, Recovery, and Theatres & Anaesthetic Support and Critical Care. Work towards ensuring the development and dissemination of the clinical guidelines and audit quality improvement strategy and will work with agreed clinical services, specialities and professional groups to develop, plan, guide, support and report on related activities.
The post holder will work with the Head of Theatres to ensure the highest standards of quality are maintained. Work towards ensuring clinical quality, clinical effectiveness and priorities for improving patient clinical outcomes remain one of the top priorities within the clinical area and department and shall facilitate and support the adoption of this culture. Works towards ensuring staff are actively involved in the Trusts vision to have a proactive rather than a reactive approach to quality and safety management across the organisation. The post holder will work closely with the Matron, Head of Theatres, Senior Practitioners & Practice Development Team, quality governance, operational and corporate management teams and staff at all levels in the organisation and be required to work independently, under supervision and as part of a team.
Oversee and participate in department clinical audits to ensure the department is compliant. Ensure the department champions for all areas and department notice boards are update.
