Newport City Council has an opportunity for two innovative and committed Senior Family Support Workers in the Prevention team. Joining the Team Manager and Deputy Team Managers in shaping the team and service to meet the early intervention and preventative needs of the children, young people and families of Newport perventing escalation of support needs.

You would provide a high-quality service in relation to all aspects of service delivery. This includes involvement in decisions around the SPACE Wellbeing process, chairing Team Around the Family Panels, Parenting groups and Early Assessment Projects. Your role would be to assist, advise and support the Team Manager and Deputy Team Managers by providing professional supervision to team members and contributing to the ongoing development of the service.

As part of the management team you would deputise for the Team Manager and Deputy Team Managers as and when required and have full decision making responsibility and accountability in those instances.

These posts provide an exciting opportunity for anyone who wishes to develop their career and work towards providing a creative service to improve outcomes for children, young people and families with an emphasis on prevention and early support. The post holders will be well supported and the posts will provide excellent opportunities for personal development and experience. You will join a newly established management team to collectively develop a Prevention and Inclusion service area that can make a difference for the people we support.

You must be willing to work flexible hours as the team provides support when it is required to fulfil the objective of the plan even if this is outside traditional office hours.
