We are looking for an experienced administrator to provide support for courses and events organised by School of Mathematics’ Graduate School (MIGS). In particular, the post holder will work with academic organisers and the Graduate School Manager to plan and deliver courses provided by the Scottish Mathematical Sciences Training Centre (SMSTC).

**The Opportunity**:
A key member of our Graduate School, the post holder will provide administrative support to the Scottish Mathematical Sciences Training Centre (SMSTC) and School of Mathematics’ Graduate School in relation to courses and events arranged for PGR students.

SMSTC is one of six taught course centres for PhD students whose prime aim is to provide high-quality broad training in fundamental areas of mathematics and statistics for students beginning a PhD in any aspect of mathematical sciences.

The School of Mathematics is part of a longstanding collaboration with Heriot-Watt University in the Maxwell Institute for Mathematical Sciences and our joint graduate school covers all areas of mathematics, operational research and statistics. There are events and courses held throughout the year which the post holder will provide support for.

The post holder will be the first point of contact for academic organisers and attendees on SMSTC courses as well as providing support for wider graduate school activities. You will provide administrative support in relation to the organisation of the academic calendar and will act as the first point of contact for all enquiries. You will also provide administrative support for course administration for on-programme students in the Graduate School.

With excellent organisational, interpersonal and IT skills you will be self-motivated and able to manage multiple competing demands and work to ensure deadlines are met. An ability to use initiative and be proactive is essential. You will have a strongly developed sense of service delivery and a student focused approach.
