**Coroners are independent judicial officers who are responsible for investigating violent, unnatural, or sudden deaths.**
- Their role is to establish who has died, and how, when and where they died. Coroners have a duty to investigate a death and if necessary, hold an inquest.** **The **Court Officer** will be responsible for supporting the Coroner, family and witnesses during the inquest.The Coroners Court Officer role in Hampshire is key to the service, providing a **high quality administrative** and front-line support function to the team and the general public.- As Court Officer, your role will be to co-ordinate and act as liaison between the Coroner/s, Coroner’s Officers, Court Support Service volunteers, the bereaved and all interested parties/stakeholders before, during and after Inquest. You will be responsible for the IT set up in court to include, digital recording, sound, and visual systems, ensuring appropriate recording of proceedings. The role will provide timely contact with bereaved families before Inquest to advise regarding proceedings and to offer any support necessary, for example, pre-court visits. The Court Officer will deal with press enquiries appropriately and within guidelines.- This is a varied role where you will meet people from all walks of life and you will be available to assist the Coroner/s, Coroner’s Officer, and administration staff with any tasks where appropriate.**What We Can Offer You**:
