- Coroners are independent judicial officers who are responsible for investigating violent, unnatural, or sudden deaths.
- Their role is to establish who has died, and how, when and where they died. Coroners have a duty to investigate a death and if necessary, hold an inquest. The
- **Court Officer** will be responsible for supporting the Coroner, family and witnesses during the inquest.
- The Coroners Court Officer role in Hampshire is key to the service, providing a high quality
