**Job description**:
The Payroll & Accounts Officer will be the primary contact responsible for overseeing all payroll activities and managing the end-to-end payroll process for the company. Additionally, they will have some tasks in the Accounts function (e.g. invoicing, allocating cash, completing VAT returns, etc). This role sits within the Finance team.

**Key responsibilities of the Payroll Officer**

**Payroll**:

- Managing the payroll process for multiple monthly payrolls - overseeing all payroll activity, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Preparing and running Company payrolls, ensuring these are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Maintaining the payroll processing system and records by gathering, collating, and inputting data
- Manage payroll systems and liaising with payroll systems suppliers to resolve issues and queries
- Manage recording and accounting of employee benefits, including P11d submissions
- In conjunction with the HR team, dealing with employee payroll queries
- Submitting RTI information and dealing with HMRC queries when they arise
- Ensure all payroll information and records are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements and support internal and external audits

**Accounts**:

- Supporting the Accounts Payable team from time to time with invoice posting, coding employee expenses and assisting with month-end supplier statement reconciliations;
- Processing payments to suppliers
- Ad hoc accounts work as required by the team (e.g. balance sheet reconciliations, VAT returns, etc)

**Skills, Knowledge and Experience**
- Experience of managing end to end payroll processes
- Detailed knowledge of PAYE and regulations
- Experience of manual calculations, and payment and deduction types
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to be able to problem solve.
- Experience and understanding of payroll related compliance.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Microsoft Excel) and industry standard payroll software
- Experience of handling employee payroll queries
- A team player and good communicator who can build good working relationships across teams (Finance, HR, and employees)
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines as well as being able to manage your own time effectively
- Accurate documenting skills and good attention to detail
- Experience of managing efficient processes
- Good planning and organizational skills
