The post holder will maintain a high degree of professionalism with clients, other agencies and the service at all times. The post holder will ensure personal practice complies with professional guidelines and protocols for good practice S/he will communicate effectively and have skills to develop therapeutic relationships with children, young people, parents and carers with severe and complex mental health needs. S/he will provide specialist therapeutic interventions of a complex and intensive nature, ranging from brief/partnership intervention to complex treatment plans The post holder will demonstrate the ability to liaise effectively with the MDT and other persons involved in the treatment/care plan over any serious changes in the child/young persons mental health to discuss and agree the appropriate course of action, The post holder will be instrumental in the maintenance and development of professional working relationships with the primary referrers to the service in order to ensure that young people have ease of access The post holder must demonstrate excellent and effective communication skills, applicable primarily when working with young people and their families, but also demonstrable when engaged with other professionals. The post holder will appropriately communicate very sensitive condition related information to patients, relatives and other professionals involved with young people.

The post holder will demonstrate empathy and reassurance and be clear and concise in delivery. S/he will promote effective working relationships within the multidisciplinary team by working collaboratively and jointly with other team members and professionals from other agencies.
