Following the appointment of our new Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dave Petley, we are now seeking an exceptional new Pro-Vice-Chancellor Research. A key member of the Executive team, you will join us at a pivotal moment as we look to build on our achievements and extend our reach and reputation. You will lead the development of the next generation of our research strategy, ensuring a strong research and impact profile that moves us forward across all measures, and is recognised externally by government, key stakeholders and global partners. Engaging proactively across the institution, you will focus on sustaining and improving the quality of research; maximising and diversifying funding streams; and inspiring and facilitating the growth of cross-disciplinary innovation and enterprise.
A strong strategic leader with the requisite academic profile to hold immediate credibility at this level, you will have experience of developing and maintaining an outstanding research environment. You will evidence well-honed influencing skills and organisational sensitivity to drive a continued step change in our research performance. You will promote innovation, maximise inter-disciplinary connections and pursue a range of opportunities and partnerships that extend our reach and enhance our reputation. A strategic thinker, with the proven ability to empower, enable, motivate, and challenge teams and individuals to develop and deliver a positive and high-performance culture.
