Workshop Team Leader required
We are recruiting a Workshop Team Leader for our manufacturing site in Narborough. Leading up to 15 staff across multiple departments, the successful applicant will utilise their people management skills to ensure workflow is maintained and production levels delivered.
**The Role**:
Reporting to the production supervisor, you will be the first point of contact for workshop staff, enabling them to solve problems where and when they occur. As workflow increases you will be responsible for re-allocating staff to other departments as workload demands. You will ensure Health & Safety regulations and operating procedures are adhered to and working with the senior management team seek to continuously improve staff engagement and processes to help develop a sense of quality and pride across all teams.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Oversee the performance of multiple departments ensuring both daily & weekly production targets are achieved
- Understand and control the flow and throughput of work, helping staff to solve issues
- Report on Key Performance Indicators in H&S, Quality and Operational output
- Identify skills gaps in your teams and arrange training, liaising with the training department to support upskilling
- Collaborate with other team leaders to ensure efficient workflow throughout the factory
- Hold effective 1:1 and team meetings with all team members
- Meet agreed KPI’s in H&S and process improvements
- Coordinate overtime levels with factory manager to ensure deadlines are met
- Audit departments against operating procedures to identify improvement opportunities in safety and efficiency
**Required Skills & Experience**:
- Experience in managing and leading teams within in a fast-paced manufacturing workshop environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrate a proactive & professional approach to issues, leading by example for high standards
- Able to develop a culture of pride and accountability within a team

Usual working week is 40hrs Mon - Fri with occasional Saturday mornings
