Welcome all patients and their family members into the department in a professional manner, making them feel comfortable and at ease and to direct them to the appropriate area. Answer telephone enquiries in an appropriate manner relaying information to patients and midwives where necessary. Maintain good written and verbal communication between all departments and outside agencies. Use the computerised patient management system (E-Camis) to access patient details, update information and make antenatal and postnatal appointments.

Photocopy and scan documents/notes as required and manage the department post. Provide admin support to the community midwives. Access and print ICE requests in readiness for clinics. Help maintain hub stock supplies.

Inform Estates/Electronics of any hub maintenance issues. Ensure blood samples are collected and delivered to the hospital in a timely manner. Assist in the training of new members of staff. These duties and responsibilities may be changed in accordance with the needs of the Directorate and in particular the post holder may be required to provide support to other areas within the department as required and to carry out any other relevant duties that may be requested.
