The Clinical Research Practitioner is an autonomous specialist working within the multi-disciplinary team. The post holder will take responsibility for the co-ordination and management of a caseload of patients who have consented to participate in certain research studies. These could be in-house, national or international phase I, II, and III clinical trials or research studies running within the Children's Directorate at OUH NHS FT.

We require someone who is self motivated, confident, with good communication skills and an eye for detail; someone who is a strong advocate for their patients with a caring nature and willing to train in patient assessment and laboratory skills for the role.

The Children’s Research Teams drive high quality research in the region for the benefit of the NHS and the health of children. We support a multitude of research studies and clinical trials across all the medical specialties in children.

Responsibilities will include recruiting patients into studies and carrying out the informed consent process, registration/randomisation of participants using an online or other given system; undertaking study procedures and assessments with the participant; sample processing following laboratory processes, and supporting participants to complete any questionnaires or forms for patient reported outcome measures. Working with senior and team support, you will be responsible for effectively managing and delivering NIHR Portfolio adopted commercial and non-commercial clinical trials and research studies. Tasks will involve the identification of eligible patients, patient recruitment, data management and administration, which will be facilitated by good communication, organisation and attention to detail as well as being able to work autonomously. The post holder will actively promote research across the Childrens directorate.
