Little Lambs Day Nursery Kirkby are looking for a hardworking, and caring individual who will be required to work in a well-established nursery. Must be enthusiastic, passionate about working in child care.

You will be required to work in small teams under the supervision of qualified and experienced staff. Training will include working with all age groups 2 to 5 years. Full support will be given to gain your level 3 Early Years Educator.

You will be helping to supervise the children's play, set up learning activities and help with meal times. You will be working as part of a small team, under the supervision of qualified and experienced staff.

Duties include:
Supporting the children in their day to day routines.

Planning and providing the children with learning and play activities to extend their development.

Observing the children and contributing towards observations and learning journeys.

Supporting the children in the outdoor play area, ensuring learning is brought outside.

Helping and supporting the children at mealtimes throughout the day.

Keeping the children safe at all times.

Any other duties required by the manager.

We are looking for someone who enjoys spending time with very young children and to be willing to learn all job duties and train to gain childcare qualifications.

As an apprentice you will be included on a Level 3 Early Years Educator Standard, each apprentice will be supported throughout the apprenticeship by a structured programme of teaching, e-learning, one to one training and workplace mentoring; this will encourage and help them to meet the requirements of the new standards and will prepare them for the end of point assessment.

**Qualifications required**

Maths and English GCSE's A*-C or level 4 -9 are not essential but site would prefer you to hold these, if you have an NVQ level 2 there is possibility of progressing onto a level 3 Early Years.

**Personal qualities**

Enthusiastic about working with children, have professional attitude to work with children, colleagues and parents and other professionals in the setting: polite, patient, punctual, diligent, trustworthy, and reliable.

**Things to consider**

Expect to have hours distributed based on an as and when needed basis within the working week; Monday-Friday, 7.30am-6pm.

Manual handling (lifting children), Indoor and outdoor, On feet a lot, Physically and mentally demanding.

Whilst on an apprenticeship an apprentice is entitled to an TOTUM - About TOTUM | TOTUM
