We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the East Suffolk Council's **Housing Needs team** as a **Temporary Accommodation Officer**.

**Your role**:
You will be responsible for a portfolio of directly managed temporary accommodation, delivering tenancy sign ups, tenancy administration including inspections, rent accounts and voids, data recording and retention, notification, and data sharing with both internal and external services. You will work closely with various landlords and contractors as well as establish good working relationships with internal and external partners and provide ongoing support to our temporary accommodation tenants.

You will also be covering responsibilities for the delivery of the Council’s Private Sector Leasing Provision and for assisting in procuring accommodation as and when required to meet the Council’s ongoing Temporary Accommodation needs. You will be the first point of contact for our landlords and key partners.

Although this is a hybrid working arrangements role, you will be required to drive and have access to your own car to be able to fulfil the work duties.

**What you will need**:
You will be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal, interviewing and written communication skills along with an understanding of the Housing Act 1996 (as amended). You will also have excellent organisation and negotiation skills as well as the ability to remain calm when challenged on decisions and dealing with difficult situations.
