You must have excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. It is essential that you act professionally at all times, have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to prioritise work load

The post holder will be required to provide a professional, efficient and comprehensive reception service within Newell Ward which is a 27 bed, Healthcare of Older Persons ward.

Tasks will include but not be limited to fulfilling all necessary reception, clerical, administrative and general tasks required to facilitate and record patient treatment using paper based health records and information technology systems. Staff are expected to be courteous and considerate at all times and have excellent customer care skills.

After appropriate training the post holder will be required to utilise the hospital Medway PAS computer system to capture and update necessary data, and to use the case note tracing system to accurately record the movement of paper based health records.

The role requires close liaison with other services within NUH and the provision of a courteous, reliable and quality consumer service to patients, relatives and carers, healthcare professionals, internal departments and outside organisations.

**Detailed job description and main responsibilities**:
This role involves the maintenance of patient records, liaising and communicating with the multidisciplinary team, patients and families, maintaining and upholding Trust values including following policies and procedures and supporting the ward area with general duties to maintain standards including health and safety and infection prevention. You may also be required to cover other admin roles on the ward in the case of absence and work flexibly across the Trust at Queens Medical Centre or City Hospital.

- Ability to carry out non-patient moving & handling
