**Job Title**: Associate Mechanical CAD Designer

**Salary**: Up to £41,280 dependent on experience

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Working as part of a multi-functional team, the role holder will have experience of using CAD software to create 2D and 3D solid modelled designs, for a wide range of products from small components to large sub-systems
- The role holder will take the Lead Design Engineers conceptual information and further develop it into a detailed design and data pack that is suitable for manufacture. They will support the engineering/manufacturing interface through the relevant manufacturing processes. This will include supporting the various production/assembly practices associated with the manufacture of that equipment, working with the Manufacturing Technicians to consider manufacturing improvements and, where needed, to liaise with sub-contract manufacturers or suppliers
- As the designs progress through the manufacturing, test, delivery and support lifecycle, the role holder will support the Engineering Changes for their area of responsibility against the change management process

**Your skills and experiences**:

- Mechanical or Electro-mechanical qualification to HNC level
- Experience of 2D and 3D CAD design/draughting tools, preferably Siemens NX
- Experience of design for manufacture and design for maintainability practices
- An understanding of BS8888 Engineering Drawing standards (previously BS308)
- Interpersonal skills to a high standard to obtain information from multi-disciplinary teams
- Must understand how to carry out own job and how this fits into the work of the immediate engineering team
- Understands how the activities of this team integrates into others teams whose activity is related
